Joseph Kalisa’s early life was marked by hardship and struggle. Born to a mother who battled alcoholism during pregnancy, Joseph’s future seemed uncertain from the start. His mother’s addiction led to marital problems, depression, and ultimately, her tragic passing when Joseph was just two years old.
Left in the care of his 16-year-old sister and 10-year-old brother, Joseph’s young life was filled with uncertainty. His sister, though well-intentioned, struggled to provide for their basic needs.
But then, something changed. Beyond Nations stepped in, offering a lifeline through their child education sponsorship program. Despite the challenges posed by his mother’s alcoholism, which affected his mental development, Joseph began his journey towards healing.
With the support of Beyond Nations and the nurturing environment of Pleroma Christian Schools, Joseph has blossomed. Now a happy and thriving student in baby class, he has made remarkable improvements mentally, emotionally, verbally, and socially.
Joseph’s story is a testament to the power of compassion and education. From a fragile and uncertain beginning, he has grown into a bright and promising young boy, full of hope and potential.
Joseph’s journey is far from over, but one thing is clear-he deserves a bright future. With continued support and care, Joseph will grow into capable and confident individual, equipped to overcome life’s challenges and make a positive impact in his community.
