I’m Lenny — the founder of Beyond Nations — but long before this calling took shape, I was just a barefoot boy growing up in Kampala. One of six children raised by a strong, faith-filled mother after our father walked away. Life wasn’t just hard — it was survival. My mother, even without a job or support, never stopped praying. Her faith was — and still is — our anchor.
"I became one of those kids you pass on the street. Not because I ran away, but because poverty quietly pushed me there. Still, I held onto one stubborn hope — to go to school. And after many rejections, one school finally gave me a chance. I worked in the mornings just to earn a place in class each afternoon. It wasn’t easy — but it gave me a reason to keep going." Lenny, BN Founder
For years, I lived between survival and silent ambition — studying by day, sleeping in half-built classrooms by night, often going without food. I hid the truth about my homelessness because I feared losing even the little I had. But by God’s grace, I stayed the course. Education slowly opened a new door. And I came to believe that my story wasn’t just for me — it was meant to lift others.
In 2020, my wife and I stepped out in faith and founded Beyond Nations — not with much money, but with a deep burden to reach children, teens, and mothers walking the same path I had once known. We began in Nalufeenya, a small, struggling community in Uganda’s Wakiso District, setting up makeshift classrooms on rented land with little more than wooden boards, borrowed hope, and prayer. And somehow — God gave the increase.
Today, Beyond Nations serves hundreds. Children who are now learning and laughing in classrooms. Teens — many of them young mothers — rediscovering their worth and voice. Widowed women gathering weekly to pray, work, and rebuild life with dignity. We are still small. Still stretched. But we are standing — and we believe the story is far from over.
Thank you for reading. If you're here, maybe your story and ours were meant to meet. Because no one is beyond redemption. And no dream is too far gone.
We transform lives by providing vulnerable children with quality education and skills training, empowering families with vocational opportunities, and supporting young mothers to build a future filled with dignity and hope. Every supporter, volunteer, and donor is a vital part of this journey.
