The Impact of Thursday Chapel

At Pleroma Christian School, Thursday mornings hold a special place in our weekly rhythm. As a Christian school, our faith is not only part of our identity—it is something we actively live out. Chapel is where this identity becomes real and meaningful in the lives of our pupils.

Each Thursday, children are guided into the practice of prayer. Through these moments, they learn to build a personal relationship with God. With sincerity and faith, they bring their needs before Him—asking for understanding in their studies, provision for their families, and healing for those who are unwell. These experiences help them recognize that God is present, attentive, and caring in every aspect of their lives.

Chapel also nurtures spiritual confidence among all pupils, regardless of age. As they pray, they come to understand that they have direct access to their Father in heaven. This realization strengthens their sense of identity and belonging, while encouraging them to trust God in both small and significant matters.

In addition, chapel builds a faith that rises above circumstances. Through Bible stories such as David and Goliath and the moment Jesus calmed the storm, pupils learn about God’s power and faithfulness. These lessons shape their understanding that God keeps His promises and is able to guide them through life’s challenges.

Beyond singing and prayer, chapel is a time of discipleship and active learning. Our liturgy teachers engage pupils through short, interactive Bible quizzes such as “Who is Jesus?” and “Who created you?” These activities make learning enjoyable while reinforcing biblical truths. Pupils are also encouraged to practice values like sharing and kindness, drawing from the example of Jesus and His disciples.

In essence, Thursday chapel is foundational to our mission:
Chapel is how we train.
Prayer is how pupils come to know God.
Quizzes are how we see their growth.
Faith is what they carry with them long after graduation.

As it is written in Proverbs 22:6:
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
