Jovia’s Journey from the Quarry to the Classroom
At just 10 years old, Joviah Najjuko knew more about hard labor than most adults. Her days were spent working in the dust and heat of a stone quarry, helping her mother earn just enough to survive. School was a rare luxury — something she attended only when possible, always with the weight of responsibility pressing heavily on her young shoulders.
But everything began to change when Beyond Nations stepped in.
Through our Pleroma Promise program, Jovia was enrolled at Pleroma Christian Schools. For the first time, she had a safe, nurturing place where she could simply be a child — to learn, laugh, and dream.
Today, Jovia is a vibrant Primary Two student. Her eyes shine with joy, and her love for learning grows stronger each day. No longer weighed down by uncertainty, she has found stability, confidence, and hope in the classroom.
Jovia’s story is a powerful reminder of how education and compassion can rewrite a child’s future. From the harsh conditions of a quarry to the bright promise of a classroom, she’s discovered a world full of new possibilities.
With your continued support, Jovia is on the path to becoming a strong, capable young woman — one ready to shape her own destiny and inspire others along the way.
